THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) Fair start.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) CROME YELLOW (G Lerena) raced wide into the first turn. In view of the performance of CROME YELLOW (G Lerena) (9.70 lengths, 14/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
b) Approaching the 400m, DREAM DESTINY (*T Gumede) shifted out to continue its run when awkwardly placed on the heels of SILVER HOST (R Fourie) which was hanging in between the 500m and 300m.
c) At the 350m, PAYBACKTHEMONEY (L Ferraris) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the outside of MERLIN FROM BERLIN (M Yeni) which rolled out.
d) FAVOUR (S Randolph) was hanging out from the 300m.
e) Leaving the 200m, MARCHINGONTOGETHER (W Kennedy), SHARE HOLDER (AUS) (D Dillon), GAVEL STRIKE (S Moodley) and MERLING FROM BERLIN (M Yeni) were carried out by LEGITIMATE (K de Melo) which was hanging out from the 400m, proving difficult to assist. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine LEGITIMATE (K de Melo). Additionally, Trainer D Kannemeyer will be advised that the racing manners of LEGITIMATE (K de Melo) are unacceptable and that should this gelding behave similarly in future, it may be suspended.
f) Apprentice T Gumede signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse DREAM DESTINY more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (14) Apprentice T Gumede struck the horse DREAM DESTINY, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (0) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R750 was imposed.
g) Trainer P Lafferty signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 8.3.1, in that he failed to ensure that the owners colours were available for the horse SHARE HOLDER (AUS). Accordingly, a penalty of a warning was imposed.
h) SILVER HOST (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S J Snaith advised (ML).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a) MARCHINGONTOGETHER raced with a tongue tie (advised 17.06.21/09h09).
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER :
a) SHARE HOLDER (AUS) : Raced with club colours.
THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED :
