THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROYAL WULFF (S Khumalo) was slow losing one length. b) ORAVAR (G Lerena) was restless in the stalls and thereafter jumped awkwardly losing two lengths. c) COCKNEY PRIDE (C Maujean) was slow losing many lengths. The Starting Stall Certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) A race review was called into the start of this race where it was established that ORAVAR (G Lerena) in stall gate 4 had become restless as the start was effected and had attempted to cast his head into the adjacent stall and was corrected by the Handler allocated to it. This gelding subsequently jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls losing two lengths. The Stipendiary Board was satisfied that this impediment and subsequent loss of distance was as a consequence of ORAVAR's own behaviour and therefore acting in terms of Rule 61.5.10.3 declared him to be a runner. b) In view of the Starter's report with regard to COCKNEY PRIDE, this filly has been suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 30 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 21 June 2021 to 20 July 2021. COCKNEY PRIDE may not be presented for repassing during this period. Stable Employee F Naude advised (PHvdW). c) Jockey C Maujean reported that COCKNEY PRIDE took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) ROYAL WULFF (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A G Laird advised (RS).
