THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FIREONTHETRACK (R Fourie), WHITE LIGHTNING (W Kennedy) and PERFECTLY PUTT (R Munger) lost 1 length, respectively. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Jockey R Fourie signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse FIREONTHETRACK more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (15) Jockey R Fourie struck the horse FIREONTHETRACK, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R750 was imposed. b) Jockey D Dillon signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse DOUBLE GEMINI more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (15) Jockey D Dillon struck the horse DOUBLE GEMINI, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R750 was imposed. c) An Inquiry will be opened into Jockey S Moodley's (PHILISPIEL) crop use in this race. d) ROCKY COAST (A Arries), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
