THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) TOP WESSELTON (W Kennedy) was stubborn loading.
b) CONFESSOR (K Matsunyane), MASTER OF COIN (*J R Syster) and PEWTER SKY (C Habib) were slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) GANDALF THE BAY (B Nyawo) was reluctant to canter to the start and had to be led by a handler.
Stable Employee J Dhlamini, acting on behalf of Trainer R R Magner, was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended (DR).
b) TOP WESSELTON (W Kennedy) hung out badly from the 500m, proving difficult to assist. Thereafter, at
the 150m, this colt shifted out sharply away from the crop.
c) Jockey B Nyawo reported that he felt something amiss with GANDALF THE BAY in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d) Apprentice J R Syster reported that MASTER OF COIN made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
e) PLATINUM SKY (L Hewitson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry advised (GF).
f) PEWTER SKY (C Habib), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
