THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ULULATE (*N Klink) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) SPICE MARKET (*M H Zuma) and FREEDOM SEEKER (AUS) (G Lerena) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SPICE MARKET (*M H Zuma) over-raced in the early and middle stages and compounded from the 300m. b) Trainer A G Laird was questioned by the Board regarding the improved performance of LOUIS GEM. He explained to the Board that this filly had been given a break after a disappointing run on the 21st of November 2020. In Trainer A G Laird's opinion, LOUIS GEM needed her last run after a long break. Trainer A G Laird's attention was drawn to the Rules regarding In and Out Running. c) Jockey G Lerena reported that FREEDOM SEEKER (AUS) did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) LOUIS GEM (*C F Dicken), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A G Laird advised (RS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) LEE EXPRESS raced with a pressure halter (declared 21 June 2021 at 14H15). b) EMPRESS JOSEPHINE raced equipped with blinkers (declared 26 June 2021 at 08H03). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SPICE MARKET cast its left front shoe in running. b) FREEDOM SEEKER (AUS) not striding out left fore. c) INVISIBLE scalp wound left hind.
