THE STARTER REPORTED: a) POWER RANGER (D De Gouveia) and OUT OF THE RAINBOW (B Nyawo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 400m, OFFICER (C Habib), which hung in from the 500m, was brushed out by EL ROMIACHI (G Lerena) which rolled out. b) Jockey B Nyawo reported that he felt something amiss with OUT OF THE RAINBOW in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) In view of the performance of POWER RANGER (D De Gouveia), (betting 5/4, distance 4,75 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. Assistant Trainer A Ndzilana was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this colt on return to stables. d) EL ROMIACHI (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S J Gray advised (LN). e) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning OUT OF THE RAINBOW, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended from racing for a period of sixty days (60) in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer D Cason advised (NHA). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) OFFICER was ridden by Jockey C Habib (declared 1 July 2021 at 10H06). b) POWER RANGER was ridden by Jockey D De Gouveia (declared 1 July 2021 at 09H05). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) OPENING GAMBIT raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 22 June 2021 at 15H41). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) POWER RANGER examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) OUT OF THE RAINBOW bilateral epistaxis, recommended 60-day suspension. Trainer D Cason advised (KS).
