THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) WILLIAM ROBERTSON (L Hewitson) was difficult and stubborn to load. Trainer C Spies will be advised to re-school this colt.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) BARNEYS PRIDE (L Ferraris) was hanging in from the 300m.
b) TEAM GOLD (G Lerena) was hanging out in the concluding stages.
c) Jockey L Hewitson signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse WILLIAM ROBERTSON more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (15) Jockey L Hewitson struck the horse WILLIAM ROBERTSON, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (2) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R1500 was imposed.
d) Jockey R Fourie signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse GAUDIS MASTERPIECE more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (16) Jockey R Fourie struck the horse GAUDIS MASTERPIECE, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (3) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R1500 was imposed.
e) BARD OF AVON (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Fortune advised (SC).
f) GAUDIS MASTERPIECE (R Fourie), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J Snaith advised (JT).

a) RISHAAN'S BOY was ridden by Jockey J Samuel (advised 03.07.21/07h11).
b) BARD OF AVON raced with a compression mask.
