THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AFRICAN ADVENTURE (J Mariba) and GREEN HAZE (*X Jacobs) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 300m, whilst attempting to change his crop hand, Jockey N Klink (CHRISTOPHER ROBIN) briefly got his crop entangled in his left-side rein. b) In view of the performance of LILY BLUE (*J R Syster), (distance 11,00 lengths, betting 25/7), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer P F Matchett will be requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this filly on return to stables. c) Jockey J Mariba was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he struck AFRICAN ADVENTURE more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey J Mariba signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R 2,000.00 was imposed. When assessing this penalty, the Board took into consideration, the number of times the crop was used (17) and the fact that he won the race, as well as Jockey J Mariba's clean record with regard to this Rule and Guideline. d) Jockey R Danielson was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he struck ORPHEUS more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey R Danielson signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R 1,500.00 was imposed. e) AFRICAN ADVENTURE (J Mariba), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. JOCKEY CHANGES: a) GREEN HAZE was ridden by Apprentice X Jacobs who claimed a 4kg allowance (declared 30 June 2021 at 15H01). b) LILY BLUE: Apprentice J R Syster weighed out at 49,7kg. Apprentice J R Syster only claimed 0.5kg of his allotted 1,5kg apprentice allowance. Apprentice J R Syster's minimum riding weight is officially 49kg as documented with the National Racing Bureau. To be investigated. c) FULL MAST: Jockey B Nyawo weighed out at 54,5kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None.
