THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DALGETY BAY (*C F Dicken) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) SAMOA (Wes Marwing) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board with regard to FLORENCE (*X Jacobs) in stall gate 11. After reviewing the footage of the start of this race, it was established that the handler allocated to FLORENCE had not released this filly timeously as the gates had opened. The Board, acting in terms of Rule 61.5.10.2, declared this filly to be a non-runner. b) VERINOVA (F Herholdt) hung in from the 400m. c) HEAR THE TRUMPET (*G Pieterse) shifted in away from the crop from the 400m. d) DALGETY BAY (*C F Dicken) hung in from the 300m. e) Apprentice M H Zuma, the rider of NYMERIA, accidentally dropped his crop at the 250m. f) Jockey N Klink reported that he felt something amiss with ILHA DA VARLETTE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. g) HEAR THE TRUMPET (*G Pieterse), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Nieuwenhuizen advised (RS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) ZODIAC PRINCESS was ridden by Jockey R Danielson (declared 29 June 2021 at 08H02). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) SAMOA raced equipped with blinkers (declared 29 June 2021 at 15H35). b) ILHA DA VARLETTE raced with a compression mask (declared 2 July 2021 at 14H13). c) FLORENCE raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 3 June 2021 at 07H36). d) NYMERIA raced equipped with blinkers and without a tongue tie (declared 3 July 2021 at 08H48).
