THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SKY VIEW (R Munger), AMPLIFY (M Khan) and RAPID CHARGE (D De Gouveia) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) LOVE IS LIVE (N Klink) raced wide around the turn and into the straight and thereafter compounded in the concluding stages. b) Shortly before the finish line, LUCKY SHAMROCK (S Khumalo) was bumped outwards by CRUSADE TO ROYALTY (D Schwarz) which was hanging out from the 200m. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board. After reviewing this incident, he was of the opinion that this incident had not affected the result of the race and therefore no further action was taken. c) Jockey S Khumalo was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking LUCKY SHAMROCK more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey Khumalo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. When assessing the penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times that he struck LUCKY SHAMROCK (13). d) CRUSADE TO ROYALTY (D Schwarz), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
