THE STARTER REPORTED A) CRYSTAL CITY and TSAR PETER were slow away and lost 1 length respectively. B) JAMES GORDON JNR was slow away and lost 2 lengths. C) FILLIPINA was restless in stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) CRYSTAL CITY proved difficult to restrain while proceeding to the start and dislodged Jockey G Cheyne at the 1200m. Both horse and the rider were examined at the start and passed fit to race. B) JAMES GORDON JNR (T Gould) hung in from the 400m. C) Jockey M V'Rensburg (AQUA BERRY) accidentally dropped his crop at the 200m.
