JURIST, CASSIMBO, FORBIDDEN AFFAIR and WICKED GRIN were slow into stride. LORD MILLBERRY was nervous in the stalls. CASSIMBO failed to muster speed early and gave ground to the field throughout. Thereafter, Jockey Kennedy reported that this colt took no interest in the running. Jockey Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with CAPTAIN CARLOS in the running. At the 300m, KING CAPONE was bumped in by ANDREA, which was carried in by CAPTAIN CARLOS, which rolled in marginally. Thereafter, KING CAPONE was hanging in from the 200m. At the 500m, WICKED GRIN hit the rail and become severely unbalanced when racing onto the heels of APOLLO ROCK. Thereafter, whilst continuing to race greenly, WICKED GRIN was hanging in between the 400m and the 300m and shifted out sharply at the 200m to continue his run. In view of this horse's performance, Trainer McKenzie was requested to report back on the condition of this colt upon return to the stables. JURIST and FORBIDDEN AFFAIR were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. KING CAPONE is a gelding. Gelded on 23rd July 2019 (An investigation will be opened). Vet: CAPTAIN CARLOS - abnormal respiratory noise. CASSIMBO - nothing obvious detected. Scratching: TSITSIKAMMA BUSH - ineligible. NEWS ALERT - not eating up.
