THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SUNLIT PATH (G Behr) was restless in the stalls. b) SOCIAL SPIRIT (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 300m CRACKLIN' ROSE (A Andrews) was directed to the outside of ARCTIC ICE (D Ashby) to obtain clear running and thereafter was hanging in. b) At the 300m SOCIAL SPIRIT (R Fourie), which raced green, was steadied away from the heels of SUNLIT PATH (G Behr). c) TRIP TO IRELAND, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised.
