QUEEN OF THE ROSES was stubborn loading and slow into stride. ZALIKA was slow into stride. In view of the performance of MISS CALYPSO, the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. FAT LADY SINGS dropped the bit at the 700m and had to be ridden to keep pace with the field. However, this filly commenced to give ground to the field from the 600m. In view of this report, the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Shortly before the finish, FLAME OF FIRE was bumped out by LILY THERESA which was bumped out by WESTERN ANGEL, which shifted out sharply. A race review was called into this incident. However, after reviewing the patrol films of the race, no further action was taken. In arriving at this conclusion, the Board took into consideration that WESTERN ANGEL had run on from behind LILY THERESA and FLAME OF FIRE, the proximity of the incident to the finishing line and the sharpness of WESTERN ANGEL's outward movement. WESTERN ANGEL was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. WESTERN ANGEL raced equipped with a tongue tie. Vet: MISS CALYPSO - nothing obvious detected. QUEEN OF THE ROSES - coughed post-race. FAT LADY SINGS - not striding out in front. MASTER DESIGN - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratching: ASHFAHAN - swollen near hind.
