THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WATCHING CLOSELY (D Schwarz) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) WATCHING CLOSELY (D Schwarz) commenced to give ground to the field from the 500m. b) Leaving the 400m, LUCKY SHAMROCK (M van Rensburg) which was carried in marginally had to steady to avoid running onto the heels of INTERCITY (*P Mxoli) which shifted out away from the crop and was immediately straightened. The Board, after reviewing this incident, was of the opinion that this was a racing incident and that blame could not be apportioned to any individual rider and therefore took no further action. c) Jockey B Nyawo reported that LOVE IS LIVE changed stride continually in running and did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) MARIPOSA (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C I Jonker advised (RS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) WATCHING CLOSELY raced with a tongue tie on and equipped with blinkers (declared 24 July 2021 at 07H52). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) MUNABADHA fatigued and blowing. b) LOVE IS LIVE examined post race, nothing obvious detected. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
