THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WINTER FLIGHT (D Dillon) was restless in the stalls. Trainer P Muscutt was advised to re-school this gelding. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) SIR POM (*T Gumede) was injured en-route to the start. Consequently, this gelding was withdrawn. b) Apprentice J Jacobs' (SUGAR AND SPICE) left side stirrup iron broke as this gelding jumped out leaving the starting stalls. Consequently, Apprentice J Jacobs was unable to assist this gelding for the remainder of the race. c) Shortly before the finish, WINTER FLIGHT (D Dillon) which rolled out marginally and FLY THE COUP (L Hewitson) which shifted in away from the crop in the concluding stages, came together and brushed. d) Apprentice G Pieterse reported that KINGS ROAD did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Apprentice M Katjedi (NO NAME BRAND) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. f) PRINCEKRESH (M V'Rensburg), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Gareth van Zyl advised (SC). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) FLY THE COUP raced equipped with blinkers and with a tongue tie (advised 22.07.21/10h05). b) SUGAR AND SPICE raced with a cornell collar. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) KINGS ROAD : Nothing obvious detected. b) FLY THE COUP : Abnormal respiratory noise.
