THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RED EIGHT (S Veale) reared as the start was effected and lost many lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) A race review was called into the start of this race pertaining to RED EIGHT (S Veale) which was drawn in stall gate 10. In this regard, it was established that, as the start was effected, RED EIGHT (S Veale) reared in the stalls. In reviewing this incident, the Board was of the view that, RED EIGHT (S Veale) was not impeded by a handler nor by a faulty starting stall and that, any distance lost by RED EIGHT (S Veale) was as a result of its own behaviour therefore, no further action was taken and RED EIGHT (S Veale) was deemed to be a runner. b) In view of the Starter's report with regard to RED EIGHT (S Veale) this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 27.07.2021 to the 02.08.2021. RED EIGHT (S Veale) may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer Y Govender was advised. (SL) c) LORD CARO (*R Venniker) was hanging out between the 600m and 300m. d) At the 250m, Jockey S Veale (RED EIGHT) briefly lost his right side rein. e) At the 200m, QAARAAT (*K Brewer) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the heels of ALPHAMIKEFOXTROT (D Dillon), which rolled out. f) At the 150m, SOLICITOR GENERAL (J Samuel) which, was hanging in from the 250m, and shifted in to continue its run, had to ease when awkwardly placed on the heels of CHARLIE-FOX (*D Geerthsen), which rolled out. g) WE ALL CHOMIES (L Hewitson) was hanging in, in the concluding stages. h) Apprentice D Geerthsen completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. i) JONATHAN (N Patel), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Odendaal advised (ML). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) QAARAAT was ridden by Apprentice K Brewer (claiming 4kg) (advised 26.07.2021 / 07h56). b) QAARAAT raced without a tongue tie (advised 26.07.2021 / 07h51). c) GRANDE MAESTRO was ridden by Jockey M Yeni.
