THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FIELD OF VISION (F Herholdt) was slow into stride. b) LUNA LIGHT (M Winnaar) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start FIELD OF VISION (F Herholdt) lost position when squeezed out between LIDL MISS SUNSHINE (C Zackey) and OPULENCE (G Cheyne) which was bumped inwards by FLY BETTER (C Bantam) which was carried in slightly by WIFE OF WINDSOR (S Cele). b) Approaching the 1000m TAMIL TIGER (R Khathi), which raced wide into the first turn, was directed inwards and then had to be steadied to avoid racing onto the heels of WIFE OF WINDSOR (S Cele). c) LUNA LIGHT (M Winnaar) was hanging out in the straight. d) In the presence of Trainer AE Sands, the stewards reviewed the previous performance of ARENDELLE on the 17/05/2021 which confirmed that, after being well placed, the filly had raced awkwardly on the bend and as a result, had lost her position and raced very wide. This filly was examined post-race by the veterinary surgeon, nothing obvious was detected and Trainer AE Sands could offer no other explanation for this performance. The Stewards were satisfied that this incident had accounted for her below par performance on that day. e) Trainer M Robinson was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he failed to have available the registered colours of the owner of the horse TAMIL TIGER. Trainer M Robinson signed an Admission of Guilt and was given a warning. f) ARENDELLE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AE Sands was advised.
