THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MANDALAY (D Schwarz) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 70m, WARSHIP (G Lerena) became unbalanced when bumped outwards by METEORIC (L Hewitson) which shifted out away from the crop. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board which was followed by him lodging an Objection on behalf of the 2nd placed horse WARSHIP against the winner METEORIC (L Hewitson) on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. The Objection Board, after viewing the patrol films from the various angles and hearing the evidence presented, was of the opinion that the result had been affected by this incident, upheld the objection and amended the Judges result. 1st (10) WARSHIP G LERENA 2nd (7) METEORIC L HEWITSON 3rd (4) EMERALD PRINCESS M VAN RENSBURG 4th (3) BEADED GOWN M YENI 5th (1) FROSTED ICE N KLINK b) METEORIC (L Hewitson), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
