THE STARTER REPORTED
A) COUP LE PROBLEME and ROMANOFF were slow into stride.
B) BACI MONDO was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls.
C) OVERJOYED was nervous in the stalls and reared as the start was effected. Trainer A C Greeff was advised to re-school this filly prior to its next engagement.
D) GIRLWITHASWORD was nervous and kicked the back gate in stalls.
E) FLOWER SELLER was stubborn loading. The starting stall certificate for this filly is withdrawn.
F) CRUCIAL was nervous in the stalls.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED
A) At approximately the 600m, GIRLWITHASWORD, drifted inwards when Jockey T M Musekiwa lost control of his reins which he regained at approximately the 400m and did not persevere with his ride from the 300m. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
B) Jockey R Fourie reported that he felt something amiss with CURLY TOP in the running and did not persevere with his ride from the 200m. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
C) WILLOW MOON (E Webber) raced green.
D) FLOWER SELLER was reluctant to canter to the start and had to be led by a handler. Trainer G D Smith was advised that should this filly behave similarly in future it may be suspended.
In view of the Starter's report with regard to FLOWER SELLER (*Y Ramzan), this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading into the stalls. Suspension dates: 31 July 2021 to 06 August 2021 both days included. FLOWER SELLER may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer G D Smith was advised.
E) The winner DERECHO was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM).
