THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) As the start was effected TSAR PETER (F Herholdt) (stall gate 11) was still in the process of being installed. A race review was called into the start of this race with regard to TSAR PETER (stall gate 11), where it was established that this gelding was not in the starting stalls when the starting stall gates were released. The Stipendiary Board acting in terms of Rule 61.6.11 declared TSAR PETER to be a non-runner. The respective starting staff, amongst other participants were interviewed and an investigation has been opened into this incident. B) Jockey G Cheyne reported that he felt something amiss with TEOFILIA in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. C) Apprentice K Strydom reported that SILVER CELEBRITY did not stride out freely in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. D) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning MISTER MAINSTAY (C Zackey), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority.
