THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) In the concluding stages, AD ALTISIMA (S Moodley) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the heels of NATIVE TONGUE (R Fourie) which rolled out. b) In view of the performances of SILVER OPERATOR (G van Niekerk) (8.80 lengths, 5/1 in the betting), GURU'S PRIDE (W Kennedy) (6.10 lengths, 10/1 in the betting), LEGITIMATE (K de Melo) (3.10 lengths, 9/2 in the betting) and KAYLA'S CHAMP (S Khumalo) (9.40 lengths, 25/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Jockey R Fourie signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse NATIVE TONGUE more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (15) Jockey R Fourie struck the horse NATIVE TONGUE, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (4) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days, was imposed. (suspension Dates : 05.08.21 - 11.08.21, bdi) d) CAT DADDY (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G S Kotzen advised (AH). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) WILD COAST raced equipped with blinkers (advised 27.07.21/16h44). b) LEGITIMATE Jockey K de Melo weighed out at 53.3kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight of 52.5kg. c) WONDERWALL Jockey C Zackey weighed out at 54.8kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight of 54kg.
