THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CAP ESTEL (L Hewitson) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) RUN FOR ISLA (S Khumalo) hung in from the 200m. b) VELVET JET (R Danielson) hung in in the concluding stages. c) When afforded the opportunity to place on record any factors which may have accounted for the poor performance of RIGHT CHOICE, Jockey M Yeni explained to the Stewards that, in his opinion, this filly was better suited to racing over shorter distances than that of today's race. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) SAVAGE LOVE (R Munger), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
