THE STARTER REPORTED A) LADY ISABELLA was stubborn loading and reluctant to gallop. B) SUMIDA and PEARL OF AFRICA were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) CAPE DIAMOND (E Webber) over-raced in the early stages. B) Shorty after the start, LADY ISABELLA (*K Strydom) which was slow away, proved reluctant to gallop and gave ground to the field throughout. Trainer J V A Strydom was advised that should this filly behave similarly in future it may be suspended. C) At approximately the 800m, BEACH BOUND (R Khathi) clipped the heels of PEARL OF AFRICA (M Mjoka) which commenced to over-race, as a result of this SUMIDA (L Bester) was carried wide into the first turn. D) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning BEACH BOUND (R Khathi), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 120 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer D A McKenzie was advised. E) The winner HOT MARMALADE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer G D Smith advised (LM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) CAPULET'S HEART Jockey F Herholdt replaced Jockey C Habib (07:29 - 02/08/2021). B) PEARL OF AFRICA Jockey M Mjoka replaced Jockey R Fourie (07:29 - 02/08/2021). C) HOT MARMALADE raced equipped with a tongue tie (05:53 - 02/08/2021). D) LADY ISABELLA raced equipped with blinkers (08:06 - 02/08/2021).
