THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FASINADA (N Klink) and DRUMMER DUDE (B Nyawo) were slow into stride. b) SPARTAN WARRIOR (R Munger) jumped outwards and ALTOGETHERLOVELY (C Maujean) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, BURNING ICE (L Hewitson), IMPERIAL DUKE (S Khumalo) and DRUMMER DUDE (B Nyawo) suffered varying degrees of interference when awkwardly placed between SPARTAN WARRIOR (R Munger) which jumped out and ALTOGETHERLOVELY (C Maujean) which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) FASINADA (N Klink) over-raced in the early stages. c) Jockey L Hewitson reported that BURNING ICE was fatigued in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) In view of the performance of SPARTAN WARRIOR (R Munger) (betting 18/10, distance 11,00 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) LADY CALAVERA (*J R Syster), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P P Labuschagne advised (DR). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) FASINADA was ridden by Jockey N Klink (declared 3 August 2021 at 07H35). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) LADY CALAVERA raced with a pressure halter on (declared 29 July 2021 at 15H35). b) DRUMMER DUDE Jockey B Nyawo weighed out at 54,9kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SPARTAN WARRIOR abnormal respiratory noise post-race. b) BURNING ICE examined post race, nothing obvious detected. c) EL ROMIACHI brushed wound left hind. d) MY KINGDOM blowing post-race.
