THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) In the concluding stages, STORY BOOK (*R Venniker) was carried out on 2 occasions by MAMMA'S BOY (*J Jacobs) which rolled out marginally. b) In view of the performance of ACCOLADE (W Kennedy) (8.25 lengths, 5/2 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Jockey S Veale signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse HIPPOCRATES more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (15) Jockey S Veale struck the horse HIPPOCRATES, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop, the fact that he won the race and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1500 was imposed. d) HIPPOCRATES (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer S Ferrie acting on behalf of Trainer D R Drier advised (ML). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) MAMMA'S BOY raced without cheek pieces and raced equipped with blinkers (advised 04.08.21/8h12). b) CARMYNE raced with a compression mask. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) STORY BOOK : The ownership should read:- Messrs P M Chetty, R Chetty, Douglas Campbell & J F Desjardins and the colours are yellow, black chevrons, yellow sleeves, red armbands & cap.
