THE STARTER REPORTED A) KUNTA KINTE was nervous in the stalls. B) HIKARU fly jumped leaving the stalls. C) RAIO was slow into stride and was bumped shortly after the start. D) BLUE MONDAY RUSH was nervous in stalls and slow into stride. E) ON YOUR MARKS was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) Shortly after the start, HIKARU (J Mphanya) which fly jumped and RAIO (T M Musekiwa) which jumped inwards came together and bumped. B) Jockey G Cheyne reported that he felt something amiss with KING OF THE MOMENT in the running and did not persevere with his ride from the 200m. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. C) Jockey S Khathi reported that JACKSWAY took no interest in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. D) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning KING OF THE MOMENT (G Cheyne), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer J V A Strydom was advised. E) The winner MY BOY REECEY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer S B Kotzen acting on behalf of Trainer G S Kotzen advised (LM).
