MYTHICAL MAGIC lost two lengths. SKYFIRE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Naidoo advised. Jockey Moodley reported SHEZA ROCKSTAR was not striding out freely in running. Apprentice Jockey Gates reported that he felt something amiss with WELAKAPELA in running. BRONNIE was hanging in over the final 400m. MYTHICAL MAGIC was hanging in, in the straight. In view of the performance of MYTHICAL MAGIC, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. Jockey Danielson signed an admission of guilt for a contravention, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that whilst riding SKYFIRE, he used his crop more than 12 times in this race. The Board in determining the penalty considered the manner in which the crop was used and his recent record. He was fined. SUCH A RUSH returned post race having cast the right fore shoe. SHEZA ROCKSTAR and MYTHICAL MAGIC - nothing obvious detected. WELAKAPELA - Unilateral epistaxis and not striding left fore, 60 days suspension. Scratched: FLAMING DESIRE - elevated temperature. JAMIE'S JOY - not striding out right fore, withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon.
