THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FULL HOUSE (G van Niekerk) broke through the front gate, dislodging Jockey G van Niekerk, who kept the gelding in hand. FULL HOUSE (G van Niekerk) was examined by the course veterinary surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. b) SENSO UNICO (C Bantam) was restless in the stalls and slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DEBONAIR (R Fourie) cast his left front shoe while proceeding to the start, which was replaced, causing a delay. b) HOT SUMMER (F Herholdt) lifted his right front shoe at the start, which was replaced, causing a further delay. c) AENEAS (O Noach), which pulled hard in the early stages and was hanging out, raced wide on the bend and into the straight. d) SENSO UNICO (C Bantam) raced green on the bend. e) FLOW FOREVER (C Zackey) raced green. f) Jockey R Khathi, the rider of INDIANA BEAU, reported that he felt something amiss with this colt in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. g) In view of the report from the Starter regarding FULL HOUSE (G van Niekerk), Trainer SJ Snaith will be advised to have this gelding re schooled before his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. h) DEBONAIR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
