THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SCOTTADITO (R Munger) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) PERFECT NUMBER (Wes Marwing) stood losing many lengths. The Starting Stall Certificate for this colt has been withdrawn. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to PERFECT NUMBER, this colt has been suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 20 August 2021 to 26 August 2021. PERFECT NUMBER may not be presented for repassing during this period. Trainer D C Pretorius advised (GT). b) DEEP DIVE (R Danielson) took an awkward stride at the 500m. c) Jockey Wes Marwing reported that PERFECT NUMBER made an abnormal respiratory noise in running and did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. d) TULLAMORE DEW (W Kennedy) shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages. e) Jockey L Hewitson was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking FLINDERS RANGE more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey Hewitson signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. f) Jockey W Kennedy was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking TULLAMORE DEW more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey Kennedy signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. g) TULLAMORE DEW (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
