THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) WINTER VACATION (G Cheyne) was hanging in, in the concluding stages proving difficult to assist. B) Jockey X Ndlovu reported that THE CARPENTER returned making an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. C) Jockey W Kennedy reported that he felt something amiss with BINARY STAR in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning BINARY STAR (W Kennedy), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 120 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer G D Smith will be advised. D) Jockey R Munger reported that he felt something amiss with SWEET KARMA in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning SWEET KARMA (R Munger), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this mare is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority.
