THE STARTER REPORTED A) LUMIERE was nervous in the stalls and slow into stride. B) CECCA and SHOWDOWN KID were slow into stride. C) LAW AND ORDER was nervous in the stalls. D) VICTORIA TOWER was stubborn loading and slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) In view of the performance of MISS NIBBLES (W Kennedy) (distance 3.10 - betting 100/33) the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. B) When questioned regarding his ride on VARIETY BREEZE, particularly in the home straight, Mr Yeni told the Stewards that he was unable to secure a clear run for the majority of the straight. When it was posed to him that there may have been an available run on both his inside and outside in the concluding stages, he said that he was still baulked for a clear run at this stage and as a result was unable to improve his position. The Stewards have adjourned to review the footage. C) An inquiry will be opened to establish why VARIETY BREEZE (M Yeni) and MISS NIBBLES (W Kennedy) suffered varying degrees of interference at approximately the 800m. D) The winner VICTORIA TOWER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Assistant Trainer A Mtengwana acting on behalf of Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM).
