THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly before the finish, WALTON HALL (*T Gumede) had to ease when awkwardly placed between BAYVIEW EXPRESS (A Arries) which was hanging out in the concluding stages and TWO OF US (W Kennedy) which was hanging in from the 150m. b) Trainer A Rivalland will be requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of PRINCE OF TARANTO (A Marcus) on return to stables. c) Jockey W Kennedy reported that TWO OF US made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey A Arries signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse BAYVIEW EXPRESS more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (16) Jockey A Arries struck the horse BAYVIEW EXPRESS, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop, the fact that he won the race and his record (3) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R2000 was imposed. e) Trainer R Hill (QUANT MASTER) will be advised that should his runner fail to adequately parade in future, it may be suspended. f) BAYVIEW EXPRESS (A Arries), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer J Buckler acting on behalf of Trainer Y Govender advised (SC). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) WALTON HALL was ridden by Apprentice T Gumede (claiming 1.5kg) (advised 20.08.21/13h59). b) TROMSO was ridden by Jockey S Brown. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) FARLAND : The ownership should read:- Dr D Vather, Messrs B B Douglas & J E M Campbell, J Daleymount, R Martinaglia, Mr C & Mrs T Zoghby & SA Punters Forum Syndicate (Pty) Ltd (Nom : Mr Deva Govender) and the colours are yellow and green hoops, white sleeves, red collar and cuffs, white cap (SWE - 19.08.21). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) TWO OF US : Abnormal respiratory noise. SCRATCHINGS : a) TAMBORA : No suitable Jockey (Trainer - 20.08.21/13h17). b) CAFE PACIFICA : Reserve runner. c) ROCK WITH ME : Reserve runner. d) FERRARI ICE : Injured in the starting stalls. Withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon at 14h39 and the betting was 14/1. Rule 53.5 applies.
