THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 150m, OYSTER KING (S Khumalo) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed between WOLFFS WORLD (W Kennedy) and WAR JEWEL (M Yeni) which was carried in by FOREIGN FIELD (R Munger) which hung in from the 300m. b) At approximately the 150m, WOLFFS WORLD (W Kennedy) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of WESTERN FORT (*P Mxoli) which rolled outwards. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board into this incident, which was followed by an Objection being lodged by Jockey W Kennedy the rider of the 4th placed horse WOLFFS WORLD against the 2nd placed horse WESTERN FORT (*P Mxoli) on the grounds of interference at approximately the 150m. The Board after viewing the patrol films of the race and hearing all the evidence presented, was of the opinion that the result had not been affected by this incident and therefore overruled the Objection and allowed the Judges result to stand. Jockey Kennedy's deposit was refunded. c) Shortly before the finish line, WOLFFS WORLD (W Kennedy) had to steady to avoid running onto the heels of FOREIGN FIELD (R Munger) which hung in from the 300m. This precluded Jockey Kennedy from fully assisting his mount out to the end the race. d) In view of the performance of FISHER KING (G van Niekerk), (betting 63/100, distance 6,25 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) FOREIGN FIELD (R Munger), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P F Matchett advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) FISHER KING was ridden by Jockey G van Niekerk (declared 22 August 2021 at 07H40). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) NORDIC REBEL raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 17 August 2021 at 13H12). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) FOREIGN FIELD cast its right hind shoe in running. b) FISHER KING fatigued. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
