THE STARTER REPORTED: a) IMITATION GAME (S Khumalo) reared in the stalls. b) GODSWOOD (*P Mxoli) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) RAMSAY (*C F Dicken) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GODSWOOD (*P Mxoli) and DEEP THOUGHT (W Kennedy) hung in from the 400m. b) At approximately the 200m, ALEX THE GREAT (C Zackey) had to steady when awkwardly placed between IMITATION GAME (S Khumalo) which hung in from the 300m and GRAPPLER (G van Niekerk) which shifted out away from the crop from the 250m. The Board after reviewing this incident, could not apportion blame to any individual rider and deemed this to be a racing incident. c) Jockey W Kennedy reported that he felt something amiss with DEEP THOUGHT in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) MARENGO (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
