THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KAPAMA (M Yeni) was slow into stride. b) ANATURA (W Kennedy) and SITTING BULL (R Danielson) were slow losing one length. c) THE BRASS WAY (J Sampson) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) EL ROMIACHI (G Lerena) and THE CAMBO (*J R Syster) hung in from the 200m. b) In view of the performance of SIGNALS (G van Niekerk), (betting 6/1, distance 15,00 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Assistant Trainer E Lerena was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. c) GOLDEN TUNE (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Nieuwenhuizen advised (DR). When questioned regarding the improved performance of GOLDEN TUNE, Trainer Nieuwenhuizen could offer the Board no suitable explanation. His attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to In and Out running. JOCKEY CHANGES: a) SIGNALS was ridden by Jockey G van Niekerk (declared 22 August 2021 at 07H42). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) GOLDEN TUNE raced with a compression mask on (declared 21 August 2021 at 08H02). GOLDEN TUNE Jockey C Zackey weighed out at 54,5kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. b) SITTING BULL Jockey R Danielson weighed out at 54,8kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SIGNALS examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. b) PASCHALS SAMORE scalp wound left hind. c) THE CAMBO abnormal respiratory noise. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
