THE STARTER REPORTED: a) COUNTRY MILE (*C F Dicken) was stubborn loading. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 900m, ALLEZ LES BLEU (AUS) (G Lerena) was carried out marginally by LIFE GOES ON (S Khumalo), which rolled out. b) At approximately the 850m, Apprentice G Pieterse (IRON MIKE) briefly lost his right-side stirrup iron. c) MEET THE CAPTAIN (D Schwarz) shifted in away from the crop in the concluding stages. d) Apprentice G Pieterse reported that he felt something amiss with IRON MIKE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) Jockey G Lerena reported that ALLEZ LES BLEU (AUS) did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. f) MEET THE CAPTAIN (D Schwarz), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S Moffatt advised (DR).
