THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) BEDAZZLED JOKER (*K Strydom) stumbled leaving the starting stalls. b) At the 1000m, LESLIES PATHTOFAME (M Yeni) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the inside of RODRIGUEZ (*G Pieterse) which shifted in. Apprentice G Pieterse signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7, in that as the rider of RODRIGUEZ, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to the horse LESLIES PATHTOFAME at the 1000m. Accordingly, a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days was imposed. (Suspension Dates : 02.09.21 - 08.09.21, bdi) c) QUEST FOR THE BEST (*T Gumede) was hanging out from the 400m. d) In the concluding stages, LESLIES PATHTOFAME (M Yeni) and DIEDI (D Dillon) came together and bumped. Thereafter, Jockey D Dillon was unable to assist DIEDI to the end of the race when awkwardly placed on the heels of GIMME A RAINBOW (S Veale) which shifted out away from the crop. e) Apprentice G Pieterse reported that RODRIGUEZ took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) GIMME A RAINBOW (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Hewitson advised (SC). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) GIMME A RAINBOW raced with a compression mask. b) QUEST FOR THE BEST raced with a compression mask. c) DIEDI raced with a compression mask.
