THE STARTER REPORTED: a) THE ENTERTAINER (*J Solomons) was stubborn loading, restless in the stalls and thereafter was slow losing one length. b) CARUSO (*P Mxoli) and EMERALD PRINCESS (C Zackey) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 450m, EMERALD PRINCESS (C Zackey) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the heels of ROCKINGTHETIMEAWAY (*J R Syster) when brushed out by MAGIC TO THE FORE (L Hewitson), which shifted out sharply and was immediately straightened. b) BACK TO FORMENTERA (S Khumalo) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 300m. c) Jockey L Hewitson reported that he felt something amiss with MAGIC TO THE FORE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Apprentice J Solomons reported that THE ENTERTAINER did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) EMERALD PRINCESS (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W H Marwing advised (RH). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) CARUSO raced with a compression mask (declared 28 August 2021 at 07H33). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) MAGIC TO THE FORE not striding out both front. b) THE ENTERTAINER not striding out right hind; mouth injury. c) ROCKINGTHETIMEAWAY cut into right hind. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
