THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TUSCAN WINTER (G Lerena) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, EAGLE ALLEY (L Hewitson) and TUSCAN WINTER (G Lerena) came together and bumped. b) LEOPOLD (N Klink) shifted in away from the crop in the concluding stages. c) Jockey L Hewitson reported EAGLE ALLEY returned with nasal discharge. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. d) Jockey W Kennedy reported WEST COAST LOVER shortened stride in the concluding stages. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) Assistant Trainer A Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer P A Peter, was issued with an Admission of Guilt for a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate the horse WEST COAST LOVER against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Assistant Trainer A Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer P A Peter, signed the Admission of Guilt and a fine of R 1,000.00 was imposed. f) SUPER EXCITED (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P F Matchett advised (RH). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) EAGLE ALLEY profuse nasal discharge. b) WEST COAST LOVER examined post race, nothing obvious detected. SCRATCHED: a) IRON MIKE under 8-day suspension.
