THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CELESTIAL GATE (A Arries), YOUNG NELSON (S Moodley) and SUPPER AT SIX (*K Strydom) lost 1 length, respectively. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) EXTRACT (N Patel) was hanging in from the 400m. b) Jockey T Godden reported that HOUSE MASTER made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. a) Jockey M Yeni signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse DEPUTY MARSHALL more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey M Yeni struck the horse DEPUTY MARHSALL, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R750 was imposed. b) Jockey D Dillon signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse GREY LINNGARI more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (15) Jockey D Dillon struck the horse GREY LINNGARI, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (2) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. c) An Inquiry will be opened in order to establish why OH MY WORD ITS ROY (J Samuel) jumped from gate 14. d) FORT WYLIE (*R Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Prinsloo advised (ML). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) OH MY WORD ITS ROY was ridden by Jockey J Samuel.
