THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GOOD GIRL (*D Geerthsen) was restless in the stalls and lost 1 length. b) RECKLESS LOVE (*R Venniker) and LET'S NOT LINGER (S Veale) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) PARKDALE (C Storey) over-raced in the early stages. Thereafter, at the 250m, PARKDALE (C Storey) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the outside of MISS EMBLEM (*K Brewer) which rolled out. b) PARKDALE (C Storey) refused to parade. Trainer N Kotzen will be advised that his runner failed to adequately parade and that should this mare behave similarly in future, it may be suspended. c) Jockey S Veale signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse LET'S NOT LINGER more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey S Veale struck the horse LET'S NOT LINGER, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop, the fact that he won the race and his record (0) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. d) LET'S NOT LINGER (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A J Rivalland advised (DA). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) MISS EMBLEM raced with a compression mask. b) PARKDALE Jockey C Storey weighed out at 53.9kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight of 53kg. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
