THE STARTER REPORTED A) CRYSTAL CITY was nervous in the stalls, reared as the start was effected and was slow into stride. B) BRAVESTARR was slow into stride. C) WIND SOCK was stubborn loading. D) STAR EFFECT was stubborn loading and was slow into stride. E) CYCLOPS JACK was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) CRYSTAL CITY (X Ndlovu) was reluctant to canter to the start and had to be led by a handler. Trainer A C Greeff was advised that should this colt behave similarly in future it may be suspended. B) At approximately the 900m, when racing in tight quarters CRYSTAL CITY (X Ndlovu) brushed the inside running rail when awkwardly placed on the inside of STAR EFFECT (M Yeni). As a consequence of this FUTURE TRIP (R Khathi) clipped the heels of CYCLOPS JACK (S Devoy). After reviewing the patrol film the Board could not apportion blame to any individual rider and therefore deemed this to be a racing incident. C) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning REDOUTE'S SECRET (L Mxothwa), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer S B Kotzen was advised. D) An investigation will be opened into the vaccination discrepancy and passport of ABSOLU NOIR (T M Musekiwa). E) The winner MAESTRO SONADOR was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Jockey C Zackey advised (LM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) STAR EFFECT Jockey M Yeni replaced Jockey S Naidoo (08:36 - 03/09/2021). B) CYCLOPS JACK Jockey S Devoy replaced Jockey M Mjoka (08:54 - 03/09/2021).
