THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MASKED VIGILANTE (F Herholdt) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. b) Approaching the 100m FIFTY FIVER (*J Jacobs) was tightened for galloping room and had to be checked to avoid the heels of ZAPATILLAS (L Mxothwa) which shifted in away from SAFE RETURN (A Marcus) which was hanging in, shifted in and was immediately straightened. c) Jockey R Khathi, the rider of SILVER SALMON, reported this colt did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. d) ZAPATILLAS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
