THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RAPID FIRE (N Klink) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, VISIWAY (S Khumalo) was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed on the inside of VASEEM (M Yeni). b) CHIEF OF STATE (W Kennedy) over-raced in the early stages and thereafter compounded from the 200m. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) WILLOW EXPRESS (L Hewitson) took an awkward stride and thereafter made contact with the inside running rail at the 800m. d) VASEEM (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R R Magner advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) PUERTO MANZANO (ARG) raced equipped with blinkers (declared 3 September 2021 at 09H15). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) CHIEF OF STATE lame right front and right hind. Veterinary certificate required prior to next engagement. b) RAPID FIRE coughing profusely post race. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
