THE STARTER REPORTED A) ROCK THE KAZVAR was restless in the stalls. B) OWNYOURFATE was stubborn loading. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) At approximately the 800m, THE CARPENTER (R Khathi) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of SONNY QUINN (L Mxothwa). Thereafter, Jockey R Khathi reported that THE CARPENTER did not stride out freely in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. B) Jockey R Munger reported that QUE ES VAR choked up in the running and did not persevere with his ride from the 300m. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. C) Jockey S Naidoo signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking the horse OWNYOURFATE more than 12 times in the entire race. A penalty of a R1000 fine was imposed. D) The winner THE BLACK MANX was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Assistant Trainer A Mtengwana acting on behalf of Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM).
