THE STARTER REPORTED A) PHIL'S POWER, FIRSTAMONGEQUALS and GRAZINGINTHEGRASS were nervous in the stalls. B) ENRIQUE refused to load and was subsequently withdrawn by the Starter. The starting stall for this gelding is withdrawn. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) At approximately the 1300m, when racing in close proximity PHIL'S POWER (M Yeni) ran onto and clipped the heels of ARRABIATA (T Gould). B) Jockeys C Maujean (THOMAS TUCKER) and G Cheyne (DANILO) reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. C) In view of the Starter's report with regard to ENRIQUE (S Khathi), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 30 days and until such time as he proves tractable to load on terms. Suspension dates: 08 September 2021 to 07 October 2021. ENRIQUE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer A C Greeff will be advised. D) Jockey S Naidoo signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking the horse ATKINSON GRIMSHAW more than 12 times in the entire race. A penalty of a R1500 fine was imposed. E) The winner GRAZINGINTHEGRASS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Assistant Trainer A Mtengwana acting on behalf of Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) VAR'S BOY raced equipped with a compression mask (07:51 - 07/09/2021). B) ATKINSON GRIMSHAW raced equipped with a compression mask (07:50 - 07/09/2021).
