The start of this Race was delayed due to the previous Race delay. ANUCHKE'S WINGS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. PATH TO GLORY was pulling hard in the early and middle stages, difficult to assist, and as a result was switched out at the 800m, raced to the front and compounded in the straight. BELL JAR over-raced and raced wide in the early stages. LA VALETTE was hanging out over the final 250m and shifted out despite Jockey Schwarz's effort to maintain a straight course, resulting in BLUE FLOWER being carried out slightly and WHAT A THRILL (AUS) being awkwardly placed on the heels of BLUE FLOWER and having to ease approaching the 100m. In view of the performances of SWEET EMPRESS and BELL JAR, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses. Vet: SWEET EMPRESS and BELL JAR - nothing obvious detected. PATH TO GLORY - coughing. Scratched: JUST ONE MORE - elevated temperature.
