THE STARTER REPORTED: a) NATIVE TONGUE (A Marcus) was restless in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start, LOVE BOMB (M Yeni) and TRISTFUL (S Veale) came together and bumped. b) FAVOUR (K de Melo) took an awkward stride at the 200m. c) Jockey A Marcus reported that NATIVE TONGUE made a severe abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Assistant Trainer M Trott acting on behalf of Trainer S J Snaith will be requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. d) In view of the performances of CALIENTE (T Godden) (6.55 lengths, 25/1 in the betting), CAPOEIRA (R Fourie) (4.25 lengths, 11/2 in the betting) and LOVE BOMB (M Yeni) (6.25 lengths, 14/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) GENTLEMAN'S WAGER (D Dillon), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
