THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 150m, THE SASH (N Klink) was brushed out by BARAK (J Penny) which shifted out away from the crop and was immediately straightened. b) Jockey R Danielson reported that he felt something amiss with OUT OF YOUR LEAGUE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. When afforded the opportunity to place on record anything which may have accounted for the performance of OUT OF YOUR LEAGUE, Jockey Danielson explained to the Board that it was his intention to be placed in a handy position, however the fast early pace in this race had precluded him from doing so. And as a consequence, he raced further back than he had intended at the rear of the field. Approaching the 600m, in an attempt to improve position, he had switched out in an attempt to put this gelding in the race, however, OUT OF YOUR LEAGUE had not responded to his urgings and he was of the opinion that there was something amiss with this gelding. Trainer F P Habib was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. c) CAPTAIN CHORUS (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Houdalakis advised (RS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) WHITE FANG Jockey S Khumalo weighed out at 52,9kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight as declared. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) BARAK abnormal respiratory noise. b) AFRAAD fatigued. c) OUT OF YOUR LEAGUE examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
